Policy Statement

Massage, bodywork, and somatic therapies do not involve diagnosis, prescription, manipulation, or adjustments of the skeletal structure, nor do they include any services that require a license in fields such as orthopedics, physical therapy, podiatry, chiropractic, osteopathy, psychotherapy, acupuncture, or any other medical profession. In certain medical situations, such as the presence of a fever indicating an infection, massage and bodywork may not be recommended. If a treatment could potentially harm the client or therapist, Jesse reserves the right to decline the service.

Scheduling & Cancellations

Live Awake offers sessions and add-ons ranging from 30 to 120 minutes, by appointment only. Please note that any changes to your appointment must be made at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not provide at least 24 hours' notice, a cancellation fee equal to the cost of your scheduled appointment will apply.

Confidentiality

All discussions during your sessions, as well as any future ones, will remain confidential, except in cases where disclosure is required by a court subpoena. Client details will not be shared without written consent from the client. Jesse will not confirm or disclose that a specific individual is his client unless he has received permission and written consent from that client.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. Live Awake accepts cash, local checks, all major credit cards, Venmo, and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. While Live Awake does not bill insurance directly, Jesse can provide you with a receipt that includes treatment codes upon request. Gratuities are never expected but always appreciated, and you can easily add a tip to your credit card payment.

Respect for Client Needs & Boundaries

Live Awake/Jesse is happy to adjust the pressure, temperature, music volume, or focus on specific areas based on your requests. You may choose to keep on as much clothing as you need for comfort, refuse any massage techniques, and stop the session at any time; the therapy door is never locked. Clients will always be modestly draped, with only the area being worked on undraped, and you will be informed about the areas to be massaged. The low back, hip, and gluteal areas will only be addressed with your permission and can be worked through the draping if you prefer. We do not provide massage to anyone under the age of 18 unless a parent or guardian is present in the room.
